Improved Product Performance
06 Jun 2009
Vita Liquid Polymers (VLP) has been working closely with Europe's largest film to print manufacturer to develop a new adhesive that allows faster machining, improved gloss and potlife for use on its range of Billhofer Laminating machines.
Current products offer a typical line speed of 30 m/min which with VLP's support was improved to over 45m/min. Additional benefits included reduced coating weights and 24 hour pot stability in the mixing vessels. This not only gives the customer improved efficiencies, but reduced cost-in-use as well as a market leading gloss and emboss-finishing performance that is ahead of the current market standard.
This success has led to trials at over 20 major firms across Europe and orders already secured are in the order of 500 tonnes per annum with further growth expected. Speaking about the development work, Group Sales & Marketing Manager John Hannah said 'This initiative reflects VLP's new focus.
on 'added value' product development for it's core/developing markets where we seek to not only improve our products' performance relative to existing offerings but to distinguish ourselves by delivering measurable cost-in-use savings. We believe this to be the first of many anticipated new market successes utilizing our experienced team.'
